LOCATION: Fully Remote + Up To 50% Travel

OVERVIEW
The Senior Sales Engineering role will support Account Executives in new and existing partner relationships, as well as, direct business in order to grow revenue opportunities.

Our Software Sales Engineers are experienced technical professionals with an extensive enterprise software sales background who can successfully be the technical sales lead on software opportunities to progress and close business, and must function well as a member of a dynamic team, while having the ability to also work independently to progress and close business.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Easily relate to customer challenges and provide clear, non-technical, value-based solutions.
  • Present solutions to customers and partners with or without sales support.
  • Support partners in all aspects of the sales process.
  • Successfully convey technical details to a non-technical audience, as well as, foster credibility with more technical audiences.
  • Provide knowledge and skills to help qualify business opportunities by understanding the user requirements and technical environment.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring and guidance on all software components, design techniques, methodology and delivery concept to partners and peers
  • Handle objections professionally; answer questions quickly and coherently; deal with challenges assertively and persuasively.
  • Self-manage assignments and administrative tasks, managing multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish.
  • Conduct proof of concepts, leading business opportunities through the technical stages.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 
  • A minimum of 8+ years of relevant sales engineering experience.
  • Strong problem solving and requirements gathering skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and comfortable taking on a variety of tasks in order to satisfy   business requirements.
  • Detail-oriented and can rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and engage team support as required.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload to meet defined deadlines.
  • Must be comfortable working in a rapidly changing and sometimes unstructured environment.
  • Act as subject matter expert for IBM z/OS
  • z/OS Required Qualifications (experience in the following z/OS technology):
    • JCL, TSO, SDSF and ISPF
    • VSAM
    • IBM Utilities (IDCAMS, IEBGENER, DFDSS, IEBCOPY)
    • SMPE
    • Reading and diagnosing job output and system messages
    • Backup and recovery methods for datasets
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with any of these Tape Management Systems
    • RMM, CA-1, TLMS, ZARA or Control-M/Tape
  • COBOL & Assembler (ALC)
  • Have knowledge of IBM, EMC, HDS storage & tape H/W
  • Configuration of SMS (ACS routines, storage groups, disk and tape management)
  • Configuration and operation of DFSMShsm
  • Understand Mainframe catalog structures & functionality
  • REXX language
  • 5 years + experience of systems programmer role
  • 5 years + experience of storage administrator role
  • Bonus: Experience of Broadcom CA or BMC products
EDUCATION
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Software Engineering or related discipline.
