TITLE: Network Engineer
LOCATION: Denver, CO – Hybrid (onsite 1 day every 2 weeks)
POSITION TYPE: 12-month contract

OVERVIEW
The Network Engineer is an experienced, competent, hands-on network engineer who serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the network engineering team. The Network Engineer will contribute to the analysis, design, implementation, configuration, testing, documentation, security, and support of data networks. Responsibilities extend to the interfaces supporting IT systems, telecommunications, and all other entities dependent on the data networks for communications.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Focus on implementing and deploying solutions for LAN based networking projects.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot wireless networks comprised of Aruba or equivalent hardware.
  • Work on Zscaler proxy deployments and Network Access Control with Active Directory.
  • Implement and maintain congestion-management configurations such as QoS.
  • Implement and support Network Management Systems including, but not limited to SolarWinds, Orion, and Kiwi.
  • Monitor network capacity, bandwidth, availability, and latency based on business and technical requirements.
  • Manage various network projects while collaborating with other IT and business departments to determine requirements and meet project milestones.
  • Provide Layer 3 escalation support for the maintenance and troubleshooting of the LAN network connections
  • Management of ClearPass (TACACS), AAA, and Kiwi automated network configuration systems.
  • Develop and implement scripts for automated change deployment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure network availability and compliance with information security standards including, but not limited to Sarbanes Oxley and PCI
  • Create and maintain detailed network documentation including regular updates to SolarWinds
  • Ensure currency and enforcement of all security policies as they relate to the network environments
  • Work within the Change Management process for production network changes.
  • Utilization of network tools, monitors, and Syslog files to verify healthy operations and identify potential network problems.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in network engineering that includes network design, operational support, and hands-on implementation and configuration of network technology including routers and switches in a LAN/WAN environment
  • Experience with securing networks with a broad-based background in network security, firewalls, network access control with Active Directory, and application proxies
  • Experience in Cisco IOS configuration including Cisco routers and Layer 2-3 switches
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree, or five (5) years of related IT experience considered in lieu of degree
  • CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent technical experience
  • Solid knowledge of TCP/IP routing and switching and key protocols including QoS, OSPF, MPLS, BGP, VLANS, HSRP, TACACS, VoIP, DMVPN, and PfR
  • Working knowledge of SolarWinds, Kiwi tools, and scripting knowledge preferred
  • Working knowledge of IP Control and Aruba ClearPass technology preferred
  • Working knowledge of Windows server environments preferred
  • Working knowledge of wireless, microwave, and cellular radio technologies preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
