TITLE: Director of Vendor Management

The Director of Vendor Management and Procurement manages the company’s supply of products and services. This position is responsible for establishing and implementing operational strategies and work plans, sourcing reliable suppliers, and developing, modifying and executing company policies. The role is focused on identifying and implementing cost savings opportunities while maintaining and building relationships with existing and future suppliers, and owning development, negotiation and execution of contracts in partnership with the Legal department and internal customers.
  • Devise multi-level sourcing strategies, working independently and also with department managers to meet enterprise needs
  • Review existing contracts and identify opportunities for renegotiation of pricing and/or advantageous terms, including new vendor selection seeking profitable suppliers and partners
  • Control spend and build culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
  • Negotiate new contracts, terms and conditions, and work with vendors to build comprehensive selection and price strategies
  • Oversee development and execution of Request for Information (RFIs), Request for Proposals (RFPs) and final vendor selection
  • Develop and implement consolidated executive review process to streamline contract review, approval and execution
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department staff, which includes, but is not limited to:
    • Align staff to achieve departmental and company goals and objectives.
    • Assist with establishing SLA’s and management productivity metrics. Develop and implement strategies to achieve and protect the long-term growth of the Company.
    • Assist with the implementation of goals and objectives for the department that are aligned to corporate objectives and mission.
    • Balancing of department work; work planning, prioritization and assignment; establish and monitor accountability for direct reports’ job responsibilities
    • Communicates clearly and proactively with department to ensure consistency.
    • Training, coaching and mentoring staff to perform their best with assigned work.  Creates a positive work environment; sets clear objectives and monitors performance
  • Five-ten (5-10) years of similar work experience managing 3rd party relationships
  • Five-seven (5-7) years of supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred, or ten (10) years of similar work experience managing 3rd party relationships
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Prior experience with VendorRisk, preferred
