TITLE: Desktop Support Engineer (Level I)
LOCATION: Denver, CO
COMPENSATION: $20-25hr

OVERVIEW 
The primary role of a Desktop Support Engineer I is to work with other IT support and subject matter experts and act as the technical resource for troubleshooting highly complex end-point devices, telecommunications and network connectivity problems. The engineer plays a primary role in supporting end user systems and peripheral technical operations and recommends changes to the company’s desktop and laptop environment as it pertains to the supporting the general office, customer support center, and training facilities. The engineer may be called up to assist the IT Station Support team on an as needed basis to support remote computers.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT 

  • Perform desktop/laptop maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Perform troubleshooting and apply knowledge of MS Windows, OS network user.
  • accounts/passwords/Active Directory to resolve complex system and process level problems
  • Perform desktop software installation and removal.
  • Perform backup and restore functions as it relates to imaging and desktop management.
  • Provide direct user contact for problem determination.
  • Assist on projects that require the installation and configuration of all equipment types. This includes
  • imaging PC’s, installing software applications, configuring the operating system, system testing, and
  • user sign-off and project documentation.
  • Escalate problems to tier II and management as required.
  • Manage systems, applications, updates and/or processes as directed.
  • Manage deployment and re-deployment of desktops/laptops/monitors/phones/printers.
  • Maintain system security and adherence to corporate policies throughout environment.
  • Assist with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and implementation.
  • Assist with phone and email support.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory user accounts, computer accounts, security groups,
  • Organizational Units and Group Policy Objects.
  • Adhere to documented change management processes to protect the integrity of the production environment.
  • Recommend and research new end user technologies.
  • Manage ticket loads and ensure that response time SLAs are met.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED  

  • Associates Degree; 3 years of related IT experience and education considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum 1 year of experience administering a Windows AD environment
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with email and user administration
  • Experience with Windows operating systems
  • Experience preferred with Desktop and Laptop troubleshooting
  • A+ preferred
  • MCSE preferred
  • Familiarity with ITIL process and procedures, specifically incident management, change management, and problem management
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, “think on your feet” team environment
  • Ability to work on your own without day to day supervision
  • Ability to handle stressful environments
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required
  • Basic knowledge of the airline industry helpful
  • Ability to troubleshoot PC/LAN problems over the phone
  • Good work ethic and strong team player
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
