TITLE: Cyber Security Administrator
The Cyber Security Administrator assists in development of strategic and tactical plans for risk management, as well as implement new security tools. They assist in establishment of a governance framework for information security to provide assurance that information security strategies are consistent with applicable laws and regulations. They identify key security initiatives and programs through a risk-based approach and communicate new security initiatives and risks to top management and stakeholders to ensure that information risk is understood and identified. They monitor and report the performance of the security program to senior management and advise IT teams on the impact of the organization’s information security risks and recommend mitigation controls. This role is fully remote.
  • Monitor the organization’s networks for security breaches and investigate and mitigate violations when they occur.
  • Help to implement and maintain the organization’s cyber-security plan and procedures.
  • Develop and implement a documented action plan containing policies, practices and procedures that mitigate the identified risks.
  • Document information related to IT security attacks, threats, risks and controls.
  • Implement new security controls and integrate within the existing control stack.
  • Enhance control stack components by developing, configuring, implementing new features, functions, and use cases.
  • Develop, document and implement security standards and best practices for the organization.
  • Direct and do hands-on installation and of security tools (e.g., firewalls, data encryption), to protect sensitive information.
  • Assist internal IT Teams when they need to install or learn about new security products and/or procedures.
  • Participate in compliance and IT security audits (SOC2, PCI etc.) periodically or as needed (e.g., when a security breach occurs).
  • Analyze and correlate information security events to identify and mitigate through appropriate event handling actions.
  • Establish and execute a standard methodology for performing security tests in accordance with security requirements.
  • Establish and perform review procedures based on the organizational security risk management plan.
  • Identify, document and mitigate threats and risks that are relevant to organizations’ operations and systems.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of action plans in addressing information risks.
  • Recommend suitable enhancements to improve information security performance.
  • Review security policies, standards, and procedures by considering the threats identified and other information collected.
  • 3 to 5 years of related work experience, with 3 or more in an Information Security or Cyber Security position.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server required. Azure exp is preferred.
  • Experience with large scale and complex incidents of all types to include Advanced Persistent Threats, insider, web and mobile applications, data ex-filtration, phishing campaigns etc.
  • Experience with software for: endpoint detection and response, system monitoring, anti-virus software, and application monitoring.
  • Candidates with certification in information security (CISSP, CSSLP, CCFP, CISM, etc.) or comparable work experience is required.
  • Knowledge of various frameworks/regulations such as ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, GDPR, SOX, ITIL, COBIT, COSO or similar is required.
  • Risk analysis/assessment experience is highly desired.
  • PCI compliance exp is a plus.
  • Cyber Security or IAM Program Implementation experience is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with vendors, management, end users, and coworkers is crucial.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people at every level and in every department are essential.
An Associates or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science is preferred.
