BridSeeking a Sr. UNIX Admin for consulting engagement in north Denver.
Duties:
· Virtualize, update and/or decommission existing systems prior to migration
· Diagnose and resolve system problems
· Measure system performance and recommend and implement performance improvements
· Manage and schedule changes and configurations
· Familiar with LDAP, NIS, DNS, and NFS
· Experience with Jumpstart/Kickstart configuration
· Provide technical system support to Oracle applications and Engineering applications
· Anticipate, diagnose, troubleshoot, and recommend/implement solutions to performance-based issues that may arise due to processing needs and the operating environment
Education and Experience:
· 3 - 5 years experience performing system administration in both Sun and Linux environments
· A fast learner, self-motivated individual with leadership skills who can work with minimal supervision
· Hands on administration experience with HP mid-tier servers and C-class blades
· Hands on Administration experience in enterprise Unix Preferably SUN/Linux
· Experience in Storage Area Network administration
· Administration of Enterprise level storage servers such as EMC, Hitachi, or Network Appliance
· Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
Specialized Knowledge and Experience (Highly Desirable):
· Perl and Shell scripting
· Automated system monitoring such as Hobbit
