The project: Global/Cross Border
Reporting directly to the Business Intelligence/Enterprise Reporting/Enterprise Data Warehouse Program Leader, contractor will lead a global Test team responsible for delivery of Quality Assured applications to production. You will manage all testing activities across a number of teams, including functional and non-functional.
Due to the nature of the Global organization, travel may be required

• The ability to work and team effectively with clients and other management personnel across geographies
• Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change

• Ability to understand and integrate cultural differences and lead virtual cross-cultural, cross-border teams
• Minimum of 10 years test management and in IT Quality Assurance and Testing
• Strong Risk Management skills
• Solid test strategy expertise including innovative test approaches
• Experience managing test programmes with different types of testing, i.e. functional, non-functional, database/backend testing
• Experience/knowledge of Finance systems/Business Intelligence domains/Data Warehouse platforms, an advantage
• Experience of leading small to medium sized teams in project delivery
• Excellent experience in client-facing roles within blue chip organizations
• Experience of Team Management with multi-location teams
• Significant experience of line management responsibilities for small/medium sized teams
Education:
• Bachelor degree in related discipline, or equivalent work experience
• One or more professional certificates to supplement formal education
Certification Requirements:
• Attained ISEB Foundation in Software Testing or equivalent
• Attained or working towards ISEB Practitioner in Software Testing or equivalent
Overview of responsibilities:
• Plan and manage delivery of all testing activities for assigned projects as appropriate.
• Co-ordinate all testing activities across the program of work including functional, non-Functional, etc
• Assist with, or where appropriate take responsibility for QA delivery and management of Test resources, Pipeline, Status Reporting, Test Plans, Cases, Scripts, Results, Test Readiness Reviews, post-implementation Reviews
• Where appropriate review and approve test plans and test cases ensuring alignment with standards
• Ensure that all system tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolved
• Determine the appropriate quality initiatives to implement during each phase of the system development life cycle
• Assist in the development of quality assurance and testing policies, standards and procedures
• Where appropriate manage Team workload, performance and delivery targets
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other IT Service groups and customers to expedite delivery of IT solutions
• Act as the single point of testing accountability for project/program managers on assigned engagements
• Where applicable, work closely with off-shore 3rd party vendors to deliver projects to time, cost and quality requirements
• Provide technical guidance and expertise to team members, colleagues and/or customers

• Manage the training and development of staff members to develop their skills and maintain industry-leading knowledge in their areas of responsibility
• Directly and indirectly supervise staff members in the development, implementation, and delivery of applications to client's business requirements
• Recommend the selection of and be responsible for the performance management of staff members
• Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of team members and/or business representatives as appropriate
• As appropriate set priorities for the team to ensure task completion and coordinate work activities with other supervisors
• Is accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline or function
• Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
• Generate ideas for expanding current service offerings based on experience and client feedback.
• Focus team on key process and service line improvement opportunities based on business objectives.
• Actively seek out and consider input from appropriate sources before making decisions.
• Provide guidance to team members about how to select and leverage methodology, tools and technology options to maximize personal impact and minimize costs (e.g., virtual meeting tools).
• Capture and communicate leading practices and seize opportunities to grow Client’s knowledge (e.g., knowledgeable networks, face-to-face events, leading practice development).
Coaching and developing others:
• Help people contribute more by clarifying performance expectations and providing balanced and constructive feedback with specific behavioral examples.
• Develop strengths and opportunities collaboratively with team members by encouraging people to take action following feedback.
• Match coaching interventions to situational needs by skillfully applying questioning, listening and summarizing techniques.
• Help team members identify learning needs related to Client offerings and technical specialties and provide suggestions for pursuing these learning options
