Immediate need for a Telecom Admin for consulting engagement in San Jose, CA.
This position is responsible for the maintenance and development of our client’s current Telephony systems. Will work with the solutions engineering group on the continued development of the Unified Communications, Unified Messaging systems and Avaya systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS
· Experience (3+ years) in data networking (WAN, LAN)
· Extensive experience (5+ years) in telephony systems (both TDM and VoIP/SIP)
· Thorough understanding of the Unified Communications domain, technologies and trends, vendor solutions and their relative pros and cons from multiple perspectives (e.g., functionality, integration, interfaces, ease of use and administration, cost, vendor reputation)
· A good understanding of operating system level considerations related to VoIP
· Average to advanced experience in the configuration and operation of traditional and IP PBXs
· Experience with Microsoft’s Office Communication Server infrastructure as it relates to UC and specifically with OCS 2007 R2 voice support
· Experience interfacing Avaya or other IP PBXs to Microsoft OCS 2007 R2 via QSIG and SIP gateways
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
· Experience with Exchange 2007 UM voice integration features and routing functions within a distributed enterprise deployment
· At least 5+ years of experience with Avaya IP PBXs
· Experience with Avaya Aura platform including Session Manager
· Experience with web and video conferencing solutions and deployment
· Experience with mobility solutions (UC extension to smart phone, Wi-Fi) and deployment, including fixed/mobile convergence. This includes building-based systems that integrate the LAN, PBX and mobile (carrier) networks for the use of smart phones as off-net UC end-points
Working in tandem with the other domain engineers, the IT infrastructure architect and solutions engineering staff, the position will be responsible for:
· Assist in the development and integration of telephony systems; Avaya, Mitel, MS OCS
· maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the UC technologies
· Assist in facilitating fixed / mobile telephony convergence
· Assist in developing solutions spanning the entire UC domain and across all types of fixed and mobile end-points (e.g., desk phones, soft phones on PCs, UC apps on smart phones that leverage FMC capabilities on LANs and in-building nG mobile network extensions)
