The System Engineer is a strong technical position and will be part of the team responsible for the engineering, design, daily administration, documentation, and compliance of all servers in the infrastructure.
Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or combination of education and experience. Technical certifications preferred.
· Seven plus years IT experience with five plus years in a systems environment. Experience in a Broadcast environment desirable but not required.
· Server engineering experience including the specification and design of highly resilient infrastructure to support enterprise services.
· Experience managing a highly virtual environment, preferably with VMWare
· Experience supporting operational processes and procedures to maximize the availability and efficiency of enterprise server environments.
· Experience creating and setting processes in place for corporate infrastructure.
· Three years experience providing on-call technical support and shift work support and performing troubleshooting activities in an enterprise environment.
· Experience with ITIL best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for designing, supporting and maintaining the server environment including Windows, UNIX, Linux, and Macintosh platforms.
· Responsible for supporting other departments with solution design, architecture and engineering, and supporting remote infrastructure.
· Responsible for maintaining service levels with customers through servicing of trouble tickets.
· Responsible for writing and maintaining documentation, policies, and procedures.
· Responsible for the engineering, design, daily administration, documentation, and compliance of all servers in the infrastructure.
· Perform the daily administration of server environments including monitoring and auditing.
· Ensure compliance of server environment management in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley.
