Role: BMC Performance Assurance - System Administrator (BPA – SA)

Normal working hours for the BPA-SA Eastern US business hours – 8:30-5PM (8 hour work day)
Required Skills:
· Minimum: 3 years prior experience as a BMC PA System Administrator. 5 years Preferred.
· Knowledge of Windows and Unix (HP UX, Linux) Operating systems
Overview of responsibilities:
The BMC Performance Assurance – System Administrator (BPA-SA) role will perform all responsibilities normally associated with system administration, for Client’s BMC Performance Assurance (BPA) system.
The BPA system provides real time and historical reporting for server component and processes utilization and other system metrics, for approximately 2000 production and test servers in Client’s Global Data Centers.
The BPA System Administrator will be responsible to complete requests to establish, modify and remove system performance collections on monitored servers (i.e. Adds, Changes, and Deletes), modifying BPA collection schedules (scripts and policies) and assuring overall proper system configuration on BPA system consoles and agents. It also includes assuring daily operation of the system – i.e. assuring agents and collections are functioning and that collection data is transferred, analyzed and populated into the BPA database, data summarization and purging occurs per defined policies, troubleshooting incidents and problems within the system, working to upgrade system software levels including agent “packaging”, working to enhance and upgrade system functions and configurations on the system consoles, and working with other teams as needed. Typically the other teams that the BPA SA will interact with are Hosting services/ Server teams (Windows/ Unix), DBAs, Application Management, Capacity Management and QA. The BPA-SA role will be required to provide weekly status reports to Capacity Management team, regarding the normal operations of the BPA environment, including trending the BPA operations over time and the number of monitored servers added or removed.
