BridgeView IT is seeking a Sr. Storage Administrator. This role is located in Bethlehem, PA. It is a full time role.
Skills and Requirements
· Open Systems Support – 5+ years experience. Administering large distributed enterprise storage environments .Also responsibility for strategic deployment and use of storage to help meet business objectives. Experience defining an overall storage service strategy and support requirements also necessary.
· TSM support- 5+ years experience in administering a large enterprise backup and recovery environment. Planning, implementing and supporting TSM and all related products.
· Management and Administration - 5+ years experience Responsible for administering the overall enterprise storage solution. Responsible for integrity and availability as well as configuration and performance of all disk and tape storage.
· Disaster Recovery Support – 5+ years experience. Developing and maintaining Open Systems disaster recovery and business continuity procedures. Experience in actual testing of disaster recovery plans needed.
· Storage Area Network (SAN) configuration and administration. Understanding of SAN architecture and configuration best practices. (fan out ratios, LUN masking, fiber specs, switch specifications, SAN security/Port Zoning, core-to-end, n-tier, etc)
· Technical proficiency in relevant operating systems, applications and/or computer languages and scripting is required.
· TSM-- Physical and Virtual tape subsystems
· Basic Project Management
· Ability to analyze existing technologies and emerging technologies for
appropriateness, fit, and functionality within the current technologies and strategic
plan. Interface with vendors to assess their competency and ongoing support abilities.
· Working Knowledge and Experience with McData Directors, EMC DMX & Clarion Subsystems, EMC Time Finder, EMC Control Center, EMC SRDF SNAP.
Job Description
Overview:
Responsible for all Enterprise Storage Administration, Data Backup and Recovery and use of storage to help meet business objectives. Providing 24x7 on-call support for storage production issues.
· Helps in defining the overall storage service strategies and support requirements.
· Provides implementation and administrative tasks surrounding Tivoli Storage Manager, Storage area networks and server solutions throughout the enterprise.
· Provide positive customer service and advanced communication, problem solving, and technical skills.
· Help define overall TSM backup and recovery support requirements
· Helps in recommending new technologies to meet future needs.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for administering the overall enterprise storage environment, configuration and performance of all disk and tape storage.
· Responsible for administering TSM across 5 data centers. AIX skills are an important component.
· Perform routine capacity planning tasks for storage assets (i.e., storage frames, SAN switches, Tapes, etc.), generate reports showing the utilization of storage assets, and provide documentation of storage environment (i.e., policies and procedures, problem resolution techniques, etc.)
· Provide Project Management and general administration of Storage Services Group
· Provide technical lead to work within DR Team in expanding disaster recovery capabilities to include procedure development and implementation.
· Ensure data integrity and DR processes are maintained and that data backup/recovery operations are successfully executed.
