BridgeView IT is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for our valued client in South Denver. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years exp., CCNP certification, Cisco Switch & Router exp, Cisco Pix/ASA Firewall, Cisco VPN, MPLS & WAN
SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for networking design, processes, implementing, managing and troubleshooting Cisco network and system environments, and for supporting a variety of hardware.
REQUIRED:
CCNP certification required
8-10 years IT experience, minimum 5-8 in network
Excellent Cisco Switch, Router, and Load Balancing Equipment
Excellent Cisco Pix/ASA Firewall, Cisco VPN Concentrator knowledge
Excellent hands on Troubleshooting Experience in an ISP environment
SNMP/RMON - Network management experience
In-depth routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF) experience
MPLS, WAN circuit experience is a must
Large scale mGRE environment experience
Quality of Service experience is required
Wide breadth of hands-on networking and project management skills
PREFERRED:
CCIE certification preferred
DNS knowledge/Experience
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project preferred
Knowledge of Cisco ACS server and AAA
Scripting languages – Preferred overall scripting experience in PHP, Python, Pearl
Linux server experience a plus
SQL experience a plus
IP-6 knowledge is a plus
Multicast experience is a plus
Experience in VOIP deployments is a plus
College degree in CS, IT or related field preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Designs, architects and provides support of Cisco- based Routers, Switches, Gateways, Security Solutions, and Network Management Solutions across LAN/WAN
• Designs, architects and provides support for network security
• Provides recommendations on architectural changes and design enhancements to the infrastructure to improve reliably and performance, reduce cost, and anticipate Company growth and acquisition
• Creates / updates policies, procedures, and documentation to adapt to new technologies and business requirements
• Maintains relationship with telecommunications carrier representatives for the existing and future network installations
• Maintains detailed knowledge of company network standards and the overall regional and global network environments
• Responsible of configuring and maintaining a proactive Network Monitoring System leveraging existing tools in order to maintain and track Network metrics
• Performs ongoing network fine tuning, upgrades and enhances to optimize Network performance, availability, stability and security
