This position requires a highly technical, hands-on manager to lead a team of highly specialized DBAs, and Technical specialists. This team is responsible for the design, implementation and day-to-day operations of production application infrastructure including but not limited to Oracle ERP Oracle RDBMS 10g, SQL Server, OAS and other middleware technologies. This team will also be charged in maintaining a highly effective operational environment, direct involvement and management of security, user support, vendor management, and standardization of services and systems will be necessary.
Responsibilities:
1) Provide day-to-day management for a team of 5 technical employees. This would include work planning, project direction and performance management.
2) Drive Best practices and standards in the area of application technical architecture.
3) Ensure production requirements and goals are met.
4) Provides direction and motivates others;
5) Ensures development and definition of process and standards related to Application Infrastructure operations.
6) Ensure Development of proper documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) systems.
7) Track and document all outages and incidents which adversely affect the stability of the application computing environment.
8) Responsible for identifying and solving complex problems proactively and lead effective solutions implementation
9) Understands and contributes to direct reports’ career goals, encourages direct reports to stretch and try new approaches and learning situations
10) Communicate clearly and concisely in a logical, organized fashion, verbally and in writing with co-workers, superiors, and corporate users.
11) Developing and executing against capacity management plans;
12) Developing and managing performance management plans
13) developing and documenting repeatable operational procedures;
14) planning and executing routine maintenance windows with a best-effort on minimizing risk and application downtime;
15) automation of repeatable tasks and procedures;
16) Assisting team with system maintenance and cloning activities;
Required Skills/Competencies to perform the job successfully:

Hiring, mentoring and structuring team & tools for rapid identification and resolution of application, server, and Database issues.

Experience Monitoring, measuring, and continually improving on application infrastructure availability and standards.

Education/Experience:
-
Successful candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science or related field or equivalent professional experience.

6 years of hands-on experience managing applications operations in a highly complex and highly available environment

10 years experience with Oracle E-Business Suite
-
10 years experience with capacity planning and performance tuning
-
10 years experience in installing and managing the Oracle RDBMS environment including RAC environments.

10 Years experience with Oracle Application Server
-
5 Years Experience with Oracle RMAN

5 Years experience with Oracle Grid / OEM
-
5 years experience with SQL server
-
5 years experience using the UNIX Operation system. AIX and RHEL preferred
