POSITION SUMMARY
Our client is one of the world’s leading providers of brokerage services. They act as a broker of
futures, options and other equity derivatives for both institutional and private clients and as an
intermediary in the world’s metals, energy and foreign exchange markets with offices in key
financial centres. They have consistently achieved a leading position on the world’s largest
futures and options exchanges, with particular strengths in interest rate products, metals and
the energy markets.
DESCRIPTION
Working as part of the Global IT Procurement team, the Software Licensing Specialist will
provide a single point of contact globally for the request/order/licensing processes relating to
software procurement. The primary function of the role will be to interface with the various IT
Infrastructure teams, Business Unit Clients and Technology vendors to build as well as
consolidate processes to track software and its associated licensing, facilitate license harvesting
for reuse, review current needs compared to upcoming renewals to make recommendations,
provide support for license distribution/redistribution, and work with purchasers on licensing
purchase and terms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Understand simple and complex software licensing concepts.
· Identify and implement license management improvements.
· Manage contract and license renewals with software suppliers on a global basis.
· Work to ensure a software compliant environment.
· Identify global license consolidation opportunities.
· Participate in the identification and communication of software requirements to suppliers.
· Validate and assign hardware and software licenses to end users.
· Run discrepancy reports and drive resolution of software discrepancies.
· Establish metrics for software compliance and initiate corrective software compliance
· actions.
· Use tools that discover installed software and compare to the license base and the
· standard catalog.
· Review the Software Life Cycle process and apply the necessary improvements and
adjustments on an ongoing basis.
REQUIREMENTS
· 5+ years relevant experience (financial services or technology sector preferred)
· Thorough understanding of software licensing and database licensing models
· Proven track record in managing software licensing requirements
· Excellent Microsoft Office skills and experience with Oracle iProcurement
· Some travel may be required
