TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
Extensive knowledge and experience with Leading Edge Network Infrastructure Services, Technologies and Best-In-Class Engineering Practices
Extensive experience with network design and implementation
In depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking; data communications, network infrastructure and operating systems, DNS network/internet protocols (SMTP, HTTP, SNMP, Windows Domain services)
In depth knowledge of LAN/WAN architectures (such as Frame Relay, MPLS, VPN, T1, T3) and protocols (such as BGP, RIP, OSPF, HSRP) and technologies
Extensive experience with switches and routers, including switch and load balancer design, configuration, administration, troubleshooting and support
In depth knowledge of network operating systems and trouble-shooting techniques and related diagnostic hardware and software tools (i.e. probes, sniffers).

Job Description
The Network Services Technical Consultant is responsible for defining the architecture and engineering solutions in support of all Business Unit network infrastructure Services. This position requires strong capabilities to drive the technical direction and leadership for multi-disciplined technical teams deploying and supporting network services, including but not limited to routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, VoIP, proxy servers, remote access devices, DNS servers, FTP servers, NTP servers, SIP services, traditional PBX services, and authentication systems. Responsibilities include translating complex business requirements and aligning the appropriate Infrastructure solution to support business needs. The Network Services Technical Consultant has responsibility for delivering Network Services Infrastructure solutions at the enterprise level (multiple products and systems). Accountability includes planning, design, implementation, and testing activities, to create production-ready configurations in the delivery of all Network Services Infrastructure via business focused projects. The position will provide technical leadership in developing methodology, process, and standards for measuring network and application related key performance indicators such as end to end application response time, latency and overall throughput. The Network Services Infrastructure Consultant is also accountable for the effectiveness, quality of service, performance tuning, and implementation success of the Network Services Infrastructure. Major responsibilities include the following:
Provide leadership in direction-setting for Network Services Infrastructure for the enterprise.
Provides leadership and direction in the definition and maintenance of Network voice and data Services Infrastructure standards.
Establishes the technology direction and manages the implementation of standardized Network data and voice Services Infrastructure.
Insures corporate standards are properly communicated to technology units, business partners and customer teams.
Leads efforts to validate Network voice and data Services Infrastructure solutions and strategies are aligned with the business architecture/direction.
Provides technical leadership for the establishment, and implementation, of end-to-end Network voice and data Services Infrastructure solutions utilizing new technologies.
Provides technical leadership for the development of support guidelines for end-to-end Network Services Infrastructure solutions for new technologies.
Provides technical leadership for the establishment, and implementation, of high availability Network Services Infrastructure solutions, including convergence of voice, data, and multimedia services.
Provides technical leadership for Network Services Infrastructure business resumption planning..
Provides technology awareness and education to technology business systems development teams.
Leads architecture reviews for all data and voice Network Services Infrastructure projects.
Lead inter-department teams to develop end-to-end application performance measurement.
Evaluate, select and deploy application and network performance toolset to measure, monitor and report network characteristics.
Lead application and infrastructure assessments from response time and latency perspective
Provide clear and concise recommendations to remediate performance bottlenecks.
Participate in lab testing with other teams to ensure that performance expectations are met after rolling out new applications and services.
Deploy tools and methodologies to monitor application and network performance on a 24x7 basis, and report any performance degradation or bottleneck.
Develop and maintain relationships with key Line of Business leaders in order to align performance engineering strategies, deployments and products.
Participate in capital and operating budget planning and management.
Provide escalation and support for troubleshooting and resolution of all data and voice issues as required by other infrastructure support teams.
