BridgeView IT is seeking a QA Systems Tester for back-end testing of a Real-Time client/server platform application. This role is located in South Brunswick, NJ. It is a 5 month + contract role.
Skills and Requirements
· Software Quality Assurance - Expert
· UNIX/LINUX - Intermediate level, some system admin helpful
· Shell Scripting - Basic
· Network Protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, multicast) - Basic to Intermediate level
· Client/server environments - Expert
· Mercury/HP (Quality Center)
· XML - understanding of structure
· Detail Oriented
· MS Office (Excel)
Additional Skills
· Excellent communication skills
· The ability to ramp up quickly
· Experience working closely with Development teams are a must
· Must be comfortable asking questions and seeking out information (will be interacting with the development team quite frequently)
· Must be hands-on and willing to jump right into the project
· Experience with network protocols
· Some LINUX/UNIX system configuration knowledge and strong analytical ability are a must
· Must be familiar with XML file structure and be able to read through xml files to find data points and edit xml files for test data
Job Description
In need of a Quality Assurance Tester for back-end testing of a Real-Time client/server platform application.
Responsibilities include:
· Creating test cases from Release Notes
· Executing test cases
· Analyzing and interpreting results and reporting software defects in Quality Center.
Testing consists of running manual test cases on LINUX servers via shell scripts and command-line programs, and analyzing results by looking through log files, spreadsheets, and a Windows Client front end.
