Seeking – Project Manager – Morris Plains, NJ – Contract

 

BridgeView IT is seeking a Project Manager – Morris Plains, NJ – Contract

 

 

The Messaging Management Team require a Project Manager to oversee activities related to supporting Messaging integration activities related to building a new messaging environment and the migration of ~45k users to that new environment. The project manager is expected to maintain a detailed project schedule, provide regular status reports, and track financial performance. The focus work effort will include:

 

1. Establishment of permanent client environment for integration Users, Applications and resource accounts
2. Replace the temporary leased environment with a permanent and sustainable messaging platform based on Exchange Server 2010 to support the integration. Scope includes design, testing, purchase and build of a permanent environment sized for 45K mailboxes in support of the integration.
3. Migration of integrated users to the permanent client environment
4. Integrated user mailboxes residing on the leased environment will be migrated after business hours (weekdays and weekends) to the new permanent messaging platform. These activities will support decommissioning and return of the leased equipment. User impact will be very limited consisting of a single outage to migrate their mailbox; no impact to end user functionality.

 

Required Skills:

• 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT and/or business management.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to manage geographically distributed teams.
• Demonstrated success in managing customer relationships.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and to deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to interact comfortably with all levels of management and colleagues.
• Ability to engage and lead customers, project teams, and service partners in the development and implementation of specific Shared Services/Infrastructure solutions that are aligned with the overall company and IT strategies.
• Experience with industry standards in project management and development methodologies (e.g., PMI). PMP certified is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Exchange Migrations and Active Directory.
• Broad experience across multiple infrastructure technologies from desktops/laptops and other end user devices to servers, data center, and network devices including their deployment and operations.
• Experience in working with financial processes, systems and customers preferred.

 

Overview of responsibilities:

• Maintain up-to-date project schedule with all tasks, responsibilities, and dependencies. Able to determine impacts of task and milestone slips.
• Maintain project budget and determine impacts of schedule adjustments and project changes.
• Maintain a Sharepoint repository of all project artifacts.
• Provide weekly status report tracking schedule, budget, results, and activities.
• Lead project team meetings.
• Develop and maintain project team artifacts (i.e., meeting notes, action item log, schedule, etc.)
  Communicate project status, milestones, and issues to the program manager.
• Work independently and with Project Team members to ensure task-level plans are completed and executed on track.
• Manage project critical path and scope.
• Ensure adherence to applicable compliance, portfolio and lifecycle processes.
• Provide an over-arching scope and path to reach IT objectives.
• Be able to appropriately close out project phases and document lessons learned.
• Work closely with Program Manager, Director of Messaging his direct reports, and members of the Messaging integration team.
