Seeking Monitoring Architect. Montvale, NJ. Fulltime position.
BridgeView IT is seeking a Monitoring Architect for our valued client in Montvale, NJ. This professional will design and facilitate the expansion and improvement of the monitoring infrastructure, which includes notification, event correlation and integration of third party applications.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
•Excellent oral and written and interpersonal communication skills with ability to present complex ideas in clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audience.
•5+ years experience across operational infrastructure with focus on monitoring and scripting with Unix/Linux and Windows environments.
•Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamentals of networking, databases and applications and their interdependencies in the context of monitoring.
•Previous experience with systems or network administration.
•General knowledge of database and message-oriented
•Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
•Solid understanding of ITIL concepts.
•Self-motivated and a team player that displays results oriented attitude.
•Enthusiasm for sharing subject matter expertise with the team.
•Fluency in Shell and/or Perl scripting.
•SQL skills.
•General Java application monitoring experience. Understand JMX. Java memory management concepts. Familiarity with JBoss.
•Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency with HP Site Scope, HP BAC, HP OV Operations, HP OV Network Node Manager, HP Business Process Monitor.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Architect, design, deploy and manage the IT proactive monitoring of infrastructure & applications for all system availability, accuracy, performance, and capacity.
•Maintain enterprise event management infrastructure and consoles.
•Integrate and correlate alerts from various monitoring and diagnostic tools.
•Create and maintain scripts used for monitoring and automated systems recovery.
•Design, deploy and configure monitors on the monitored nodes.
•Configure networking devices in the HP OV NNM.
•Deploy and configure OV policies and SPIs on the monitored nodes.
•Troubleshoot all aspects of monitoring applications issues effectively.
•Perform event workshops to reduce events and ensure monitoring coverage.
•Design and maintain documentation and standards for efficient service delivery.
JOB SCOPE:
Design and facilitate the expansion and improvement of the monitoring infrastructure, which includes notification, event correlation and integration of third party applications. Work with other IT and Business leads to determine strategy and facilitate the discovery and design of monitoring and alerting for the systems (including hardware, software, transactions, etc) and the reporting system from those activities. Work with IT/Business Project teams to ensure that new products, services, and any other new systems are deployed to production with monitoring in place. Help to ensure that all critical production systems are monitored 24x7x365, and that our monitoring infrastructure accurately and quickly predicts, identifies, and alerts the appropriate staff before the customer realizes the impact, whenever possible.
