Lead Software Architect, VA
Seeking Lead Software Architect, Product Generation/management, , Herndon, VA - - 6 Months RTH or Perm opportunity
BridgeView IT is seeking a Lead Software Architect, Product Generation/management. This Role is located in Herndon, VA. It is a 6 Months RTH or Perm opportunity.
Required Skills:
- Ten years or more of related experience is preferred.
- Experience in running enterprise-level application development efforts.
- Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle and different software development methodologies and processes such as RUP and Agile.
- Familiarity with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), SOAP, REST services, workflow management, ESB, message buses, BPEL, High Performance Computing (HPC), distributed computing, and resource management. Image processing and/or geospatial experience a plus.
- Familiarity with: ActiveVOS, PBS Pro, ExtJS, SUSE, Active MQ, TomCat, MySQL, Zookeeper, Open MPI,
- Spring, Spring Security, Camel, CXF, RestEasy, Hibernate, H2
Experience:
- Programming background with experience or familiarity with the following: Java, JavaScript, Python, Perl, XML, SOAP, SQL, SOAP, REST Web Services
- Databases: MySQL, Oracle
- Software Design: UML, Use Case Driven Process Modeling.
- "Tools, infrasturcture Applications:
- ActiveVOS, PBS Pro, ExtJS, Active MQ, TomCat, Zookeeper, Open MPI, Spring, Spring Security, Camel, CXF, RestEasy, Hibernate, H2"
- Life cycle tools: Clear Case, Requisite Pro, Rational Quality Manager, Functional Tester, Rational Functional Tester, Rational Team Concert
- Operating Systems: SUSE Linux
- Interaction with all levels of the organization.
- Great written and spoken communication skills
- Great leadership and management skills; Experience managing software development teams
JOB SUMMARY:
- Manage day to day operations and projects for Product Generation/Management team.
- Coordinate with System Engineering, Architects and other company departments and vendors to prioritize requirements and development activities.
- Guide software architecture, design, development and testing activities.
- Mentor and coach development team members
- Coordinate with different departments and teams to make sure projects are on time and within budget
Responsibilities and % of time
- Consult with customer concerning requirements and/or maintenance of software system. Review and document system requirements and modifications to support Data Process System/Image Product Generation, workflow services, COTS implementations. 10%
- Determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Prepare detailed design specifications from which solutions can be built. 10%
- Day to day software architecture design, development and unit testing; lead and coach other developers in the team 70%
- Other duties as assigned. 10%
Education: A Bachelor (BS) in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent field is preferred.
Travel Requirement: Occasional travel may be necessary
Security Clearance: Active secret DoD clearance required
