We currently have a contract opening for an Instructional Designer
Business Reason: Instructional Designer -elearning, flash development, captivate, course development for learning and development programs.
Job Description: Instructional designer on site to focus primarily on design and development of learning modules and programs - e-learning development tools (Captivate, Articulate, Flash, Dreamweaver), support systems applications around talent development technology.
Job Responsibilities: The Instructional Designer works with the Director of Learning and Development to define, develop, and execute (with support of a team) key learning programs for the global company.
· Deliver on the company's employee value proposition through the effective development and delivery of learning solutions
· Develop, organize, and direct leadership and executive development initiatives throughout the company
· Under limited supervision, manages the process for the training lifecycle, from initial analysis through delivery and evaluation (ADDIE model)
· Design and develop blended learning solutions. This will include self-paced and on-line virtual learning (including Web 2.0)
· Excellent experience using e-learning development tools (Captivate, Articulate, Flash, Dreamweaver)
· Generate course material such as reference guides, job aids, and presentations in complex projects and strategic initiatives
· Facilitate training and conduct train-the-trainer programs
· Develop /maintain outsourced partners and vendors where appropriate
· Balance the need to deliver programs with the realities of working within a fast paced News and Technology arena
· Influence a culture of knowledge sharing by ensuring intellectual capital is being packaged and leveraged appropriately to suit a variety of end-user needs that are globally dispersed
· Anticipate and react quickly to shifts in strategy/focus by realigning and reprioritizing work streams as necessary
· Must display exceptional facilitation and project management skills
· Experience with design and implementation of learning initiatives with a focus on instructional design - instructor-led and digital learning methodologies required
Position Requirements
A Bachelor's degree with a major in Training and Human Resource Development, Organizational Design/Development, or Educational Technology is required or equivalent proven experience
· 5+ years of curriculum development experience
· 1-3 years of training facilitation experience
· 5+ years successful project management experience
· Instructional Design experience in both instructor-led and web-based learning
· Demonstrated use of eLearning products such as Dreamweaver, Coursebuilder, Captivate, Flash, as well as print-based products such as MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project
· 3-5 with talent management/learning and development technology experience
· Experience utilizing Learning Management Systems and Learning Content Management Systems
