Infrastructure Architect, NJ
We currently have an opening for a…Infrastructure Architect
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the infrastructure architect in the analysis, design and planning phases of the IT related projects.
- Facilitate the initiation of key strategic infrastructure initiatives and recommend modifications as appropriate to existing plans.
- Act as an advocate for insuring that the infrastructure aligns with the overall enterprise architecture principles, policies and standards.
- Define and maintain infrastructure architecture principles, policies and standards.
- Act as an in-house consultant/trusted advisor to IT executives and management.
- Conduct infrastructure capacity and performance analysis. Develop solutions to assure system availability and performance aligned to Service Level metrics including Disaster Recovery SLAs.
- Translate vendor specifications into appropriate system designs, incorporating knowledge of current and future business requirements.
- Evaluate the potential impact of system modifications or enhancements
- Provide the expertise and guidance to peers, leadership and associates on the overall infrastructure architecture as it relates to the business and IT strategies.
- Maintain expertise in the area of architecture, including industry trends, strategies, and products to ensure that the company’s assets are effectively and efficiently utilized.
- Work with the Project Manager to deliver projects on-time, on-budget and according to client specifications by monitoring and controlling schedule, resources, scope and risk. Accountable for managing expectations and ensuring quality of project.
Experience and Skills:
- Infrastructure and Data Center Expertise
- Proven track record of implementing infrastructure solutions that make sense for the business and are technically sound.
- Knowledge of project life cycle methodologies
- Ability to continuously prioritize and multitask efficiently
- Ability to influence decisions with critical thinking based upon experience and grasp of the strategic intent of the project.
- Build and grow working relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems or related field
- 7-10 years of experience in infrastructure/capacity planning, data center planning, infrastructure support roles, including knowledge of IT processes and development life cycles
- Experience with Infrastructure Projects, including Data Center moves, SAN refreshes, Server Refreshes, Backup system replacement, etc.
- Strong technical knowledge of SAN/storage architectures, backup solutions, Windows Server, Unix/Linux Server, LAN (Cisco), Citrix, IIS, Exchange, Active Directory, SQL Server, Oracle Database, Virtualization and Disaster Recovery
- Possess strong communication, presentation, organizational, facilitation and negotiation skills (including ability to “translate” between business and technology needs)
- Skilled in building customer relationships and conflict resolution
