BridgeView IT is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst. This role is located in South Brunswick NJ. This is a 1 year + contract role. Any experience working in the publishing industry is highly preferred.
Skills and Requirements
Must have:
· Minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of work.
· Extensive interviewing experience.
· Experience with structured meeting approaches such as Joint Application Development (JAD), modeling sessions, and model reviews.
· Organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Experience in data analysis and report design/development.
· Strong writing skills.
· Ability to work on large-scale projects with many diverse contributors.
· Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice to have:
· Experience with the publishing industry.
· IIBA certification.
Job Description:
We have a challenging opportunity for an experienced, Senior Business Analyst. The candidate will be able to see the big picture as well as the technological and architectural barriers and enablers. You must be comfortable working with "specialists" in diverse roles and to understand the business from many diverse perspectives. You will be responsible for maintaining a close relationship with the customer, developers and other project staff. You will need to gather requirements at all levels in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Gathers and translates high level business requirements into functional specifications and manages changes to such specifications
· Assists with business case development and costing of solutions, to obtain budget approval.
· Communicates Business Unit priorities to all impacted and ensures that Business Unit strategic plans complement each other
· Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and technology group from initial requirements to final implementation
· Works with business representatives, Engineering and Testing throughout the project lifecycle.
· Reviews, evaluates, and participates in the delivery of high quality and cost effective solutions.
· Maintains knowledge of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to supported business units to enhance the enterprise's competitive edge
· May make recommendations for buy versus build decision
· May provide guidance/training to more junior staff
· Minimal travel may be required.
