Seeking Application Support Specialist Parsippany, NJ Contract

 

BridgeView IT is seeking an Application Support Specialist Parsippany, NJ Contract

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree OR combination of education and experience
  • An SQL or Oracle background is needed in order to implement,  install, configure and maintain the application in a 3tier environment.
  • Must have experience with the server side to deal with the hardware. 
  • Must have excellent MS Office Skills, basic to moderate networking knowledge, and 1-2 years experience using SQL
  • Experience supporting workforce management time and attendance systems (RedPrairie or Kronos)
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Knowledge of and ability to recommend, interpret, and/or apply operating policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of computer hardware components and their function
  • Knowledge of the functions and purposes of software in a personal/network computer environment; ability to use its commands to organize and analyze files and information
  • Ability to select a course of action, considering appropriate variables in order to solve a specific problem
  • Ability to define specifications from user requirements
  • Skill of preparing written materials such as documentation, correspondence and reports to meet purpose and audience
  • Ability to follow instruction and give attention to detail
  • Ability to manage ones time in order to maximize productivity and effectiveness
  • Availability to travel as needed 

Overview of responsibilities:

  • Monitoring error logs on system servers
  • Triggering failed server processes
  • Performing Root Cause Analysis - Researching errors: Server connectivity, SQL server 2005/2008, XML, CSV, TXT and other files
  • Report creation and data mining using SQL
  • Monitoring overall system health
  • Becoming an expert on end user functionality as well as back end system configuration
  • Liaison between RedPrairie Workforce Management, ADP Payroll, and internal IT to troubleshoot and track issues
  • Testing and Quality Assurance lead for system migration and upgrades
  • Documentation and technical writing
  • Training end users on software functionality and updated functionality
  • Preferred experience with SSRS reporting or Crystal Reports
  • Workforce Management systems support experience (as described above) :
    • RedPrairie (highly preferred)
    • Kronos or similar
    • ADP payroll experience
