Application Architect, POS, co

Immediate need: Sr. Application Architect in Denver, CO. Full-time, salaried position.

 

The Senior Application Architect serves as a resource during and after the implementation of the company's application software systems. The Application Architect may work independently or as a part of a team consisting of Project Leaders, Business Analysts, Programmers, Programmer Analysts and Users to meet the company's goals through the analysis, design, implementation and use of application software.

The Senior Application Architect provides support for both IT and Corporate projects on the Money Transfer, Point of Sale, team. Senior Application Architect should possess a thorough knowledge base of multiple assigned applications.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support and expertise to individuals or teams working on the most complex projects.
  • Performs analysis and design on the most complex systems.
  • Adheres to the use of project methodology as appropriate for each project.
  • Participates in the preparation of Project Plans and helps provide time estimates on technical tasks.
  • Provides technical guidance, direction and mentoring to all levels of programmers.
  • Effectively communicates between team, Management, Users and other personnel.
  • Recommends solutions that provide cost-effective, state of the art solutions to business needs.
  • Interacts with users, peers and management in a professional manner. Works closely with all levels of management and staff to give and receive advice, information, clarification and/or direction as needed.
  • Completes specific goals as defined by IT management.
  • Communicates timely and accurate information to manager regarding the status of assigned projects/tasks.
  • Makes recommendations to manager that will improve departmental functions and productivity, with particular emphasis on cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Ensures that IT SOP is maintained and updated. SOP accuracy is measured by Internal Audit Grade, Self-Audits and regulatory reviews.

Skills

  • POS experience highly preferred
  • Must be able to build architectures from scratch.  
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Business or related field or equivalent work experience or certifications will be considered.
  • Must have 6+ years minimum experience in Java and J2EE Technologies.
  • Successful track record of project implementation, both large and small.
  • Evidence of strong technical analysis skills, including program-debugging, performance-tuning and systems analysis.
